EA changes the progression system of Star Wars Battlefront 2. After massive criticism from the community in the context of the beta, during which you could buy game-related content via Lootboxen, the publisher seems to have a look. In this context, EA has announced several adjustments to the progression in the game, which we will explain in more detail here in our news.
First the Shitstorm, then the U-turn – this new trend in the video game industry now seems to have reached Star Wars Battlefront 2 as well. After the fans of the upcoming multiplayer shooter were outraged by the Progressions system , which allowed to buy game-related content via Lootboxes during the Beta, Publisher EA has returned. According to an official statement , EA mainly takes the so-called Star Cards and class progression.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 System Requirement
The Star Cards are items that unlock certain abilities for your character. During the beta, these cards were available, among other things via Lootboxen. Now players should be able to approach the Star Cards exclusively by crafting (only the pre-order bonuses are an exception). In addition, to make a particular Star Card, you must have previously achieved a specific rank in the game.
Looking at the class progression, EA wants to eliminate the possibility that loot boxes can contain random items for any class, regardless of the class you’re currently using. Instead, the Loot Boxes should only deliver items for each class you play. These class-specific loot boxes are automatically given to you when you reach certain milestones in the game. The same is true of the weapons, which are exclusively linked to your game progress.
EA also stated that any upcoming weapons, maps, heroes, and vehicles released for the shooter after the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2 should be available to all players for free.
